We are EveryChild.

We stop children growing up vulnerable and alone.

Our vision is of a world where every child enjoys the right to a childhood in a safe and caring family, free from poverty, violence and exploitation. More than 24 million children grow up without parental care, their survival often threatened by greater risk of malnutrition, violence and exploitation; their future lost by missing out on school, and their childhood. Working with local partners we keep children safe when they are alone and at risk. We protect children in danger of ending up on their own by keeping families together. And we get children back to a safe and caring family, wherever we can.

Mission: what we do and how we do it:
> Keeping families together.
> Keeping children safe.
> Getting children back into families.
> Making sure children are heard.
> Learning, to do better.
> Influencing and inspiring change

Keeping families together.
When children are at risk of ending up on their own, because of the circumstances facing their families, we help to strengthen families to prevent children from being separated.

Keeping children safe.
When children are living without the care and safety of a family, most at risk of violence, abuse or exploitation, we protect them with crisis care and support.

Getting children back into families.
Wherever we can, we re-unite children on their own with their families. When that is not possible, or not in a child’s best interest, we help them get into alternative family-based care.

Making sure children are heard.
We help children, their families and communities, speak for themselves, take part in decisions which affect their lives, and find lasting solutions to their problems.

Learning, to do better.
We try new ways of doing things, and then share what works with communities and governments to bring about lasting, positive change.

Influencing and inspiring change.
We seek to influence at a local, national and international level, to change policy, legislation and services that will transform the lives of many more children than we can reach directly.

Child rights.
EveryChild strives to promote a child’s rights to a family. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) states that all children, “for the full and harmonious development of (their) personality, should grow up in a family environment, in an atmosphere of happiness, love and understanding.”

We believe that every child:
> has the right to grow up in a safe and caring family
> has the right to go to school
> has the right to be heard
> deserves the chance to play
> deserves the opportunity to fulfil their potential
> deserves the chance of a childhood Because we know that the care and security of a family makes all the difference in the world to a child’s chances of having not only a childhood, but a future.

What we are.
> We are caring.
> We are inclusive.
> We are expert.
> We are innovative.

Governance.
EveryChild was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee (No. 4320643) in November 2001 and is a charity registered with the Charity Commission (No. 1089879). The governing documents of the company are its Memorandum and Articles of Association, which were updated on 23rd September 2009.

The leadership team of EveryChild is led by the Chief Executive, who along with five directors; Director of Fundraising and Marketing, Director of Corporate Resources, Programmes Director, Communications and Advocacy Director and Director of Programmes-Coalition, leads the operational business of the organisation.

Each director oversees a strategic area of the business and reports on this at regular intervals to the board of trustees.

Our future.
EveryChild works with local partners to maximise our impact and increasingly we are supporting our own offices to become independent national organisations. Working in partnership is key to EveryChild’s ethos and values and as such we have spearheaded the creation of a new coalition bringing together organisations from across the globe under a single aim: to reduce the number of children without parental care. The coalition collaborates on research and advocacy and is currently is working together to develop a formal international alliance by 2014. The Alliance will share knowledge, raise awareness and leverage more support – together we will make an even bigger difference. Find out more at www.everychild.org.uk/coalition
