EveryChild is looking for new trustees
We’re looking for two new trustees to join our experienced and committed board to set the strategy and make sure that EveryChild delivers.
EveryChild supports children and families around the world so that children don’t grow up vulnerable and alone. We’ve got a fantastic global team of partners delivering programmes directly to children, protecting them when they’re separated from family care and supporting them and their families to live together. In the UK we raise the money, carry out research and recommend policy changes so that no child has to grow up without parental care.
We are seeking motivated individuals who can make a commitment to help develop and maintain EveryChild strategic focus. This will involve being able to devote the necessary time, exhibit independent judgment and commitment to EveryChild mission and values.
In addition we are particularly interested in applications from those who have skills and experience in one of the following areas:
Social Media and Communications – We’ve got great online presence with our website and social media sites, and a growing Communications and Advocacy team. We are investing in this area because we believe it’s critical to get children’s voices heard. We would really like to find a trustee who has professional experience in the media and can help us keep on top of trends and reach out to younger audiences.
Finance – Our committee of trustees has experience in the financial sector and we are now looking for a qualified accountant to join us who can scrutinise our financial planning and reporting and work with our strong Finance team to make sure that we are managing our resources efficiently and effectively and securing our future.
The board meets five times a year at EveryChild’s offices in Shoreditch near Old Street tube station.
There are lots of opportunities in between meetings to work with EveryChild staff and really influence the charity. All trustees are encouraged to go and visit the projects overseas.
We’re part of a coalition of national NGOS working together to stop children growing up without parental care. With EveryChild funding and support we will be launching a new alliance that will campaign globally on behalf of children and become a centre of excellence producing research and pooling knowledge and knowhow so that more and more children benefit. Over the next year we will be determining how EveryChild can add value to new Alliance which may mean changing our governance and structure. New trustees joining will help us think the unthinkable.
