On May 15th EveryChild will join with the UN to highlight the International Day of Families- a day that draws attention to the importance of keeping families together and getting children back into safe and caring families. This year the International Day of Families focuses on the theme of migration and the impact this has on families. The UN Secretary General  Ban Ki-moon has said that, this Family Day, children of migrants are especially vulnerable and face unique challenges:  “in particular a greater vulnerability to human trafficking, child labour and violence”.

Join our Every Child Deserves a Family campaign

It is shocking that on this Day of Families there are at least 24 million children around the world who are growing up alone and need our help, and there are millions more who can't be counted and don't have access to vital support. We want you to join us in calling on the new Government to lobby for families to stay together and prioritise children who are alone and vulnerable, by telling them why Every Child Deserves a Family.

Soap star Nina Wadia, and her onscreen family, have joined us so why don't you?

Watch our campaign video here and then tell us why you think every child deserves a family. Tweet the campaign or post the campaign link on your Facebook page. Follow our campaign on Twitter at www.twitter.com/deservesafamily and help us spread the word to help prevent millions of children from growing up vulnerable and alone. Whatever way you can, help us mark this important day by joining our campaign to help children in the poorest communities grow up in a loving family environment.

 Eclipse's story

Thousands of children have told us what they want to change.  13-year-old Eclipse, from Moldova, spent four frightening years away from his mother living in an institution. Thanks to EveryChild he is now safely back at home. He told us 'I wanted to go home to see my mother and help her.'
