We’re proud to announce that our office in Moldova has now become an independent organisation called Partnerships for Every Child Moldova (P4EC).
The launch of the new organisation was attended by a glittering host of dignitaries, ministers and partner organisations, including the President of the Moldovan Parliament Marian Lupu and our Chief Executive Anna Feuchtwang.
P4EC Moldova, which succeeds EveryChild Moldova, will now continue to build upon our list of achievements in the field of children’s rights. Over the past 10 years we’ve overhauled the country’s entire social care system. We’ve closed down children’s institutions that encouraged families to give their children away and place them in care, and introduced concepts such as a foster care and social work to an otherwise reluctant government. The government in Moldova is now committed to change, having done a U-turn on the importance of social services and is fully on board with P4EC Moldova’s mission.
It has been a fantastic year for P4EC Moldova so far. As well as becoming an independent organisation, P4EC Moldova’s director, Stela Grigoras, was recently honoured with one of our ‘10 for 10’ awards for her support and commitment to raising awareness of children living without parental care.
Anna Feuchtwang, EveryChild’s Chief Executive, said,
“It was an honour to attend the launch of P4EC Moldova. The fact that our office is now an independent organisation shows real sustainability and I have no doubt that they will continue to ensure that children in Moldova have the right to a safe and caring family. We’re proud of both P4EC Moldova and Stela’s achievements and we look forward to working alongside them in the future.”
