The Goddards….Beyond Bucharest
Bob and Viv Goddard have been sponsors and supporters of EveryChild for a decade. Their 
dedication to our work was tested to the utmost when they challenged themselves to take their motorbikes and ride across Europe, to Bucharest and beyond, across twelve countries and sixteen border crossings, through storm, flood and tempest, all in aid of EveryChild! The book of their adventures, Beyond Bucharest, is out now and all proceeds go to EveryChild.

Bob told us why EveryChild is so special to them:
“A few years ago we visited Tamala, the little girl we sponsored in Malawi. Our experiences there are still very present in our minds, particularly how impressed we were with the work that EveryChild are doing. You make every last penny count and you really have a long term view on what is best for the children. We saw how at every step the local community are involved and helped them to take ownership of these long-term improvements to their lives and welfare.
At the time of our trip on the motorbikes, we were sponsoring a little boy, Marian, in Bulgaria and we wanted to discover more about EveryChild’s work in Eastern Europe. Although the situation was very different from what we’d seen in Malawi, the quality of the work and the thought that had gone into what you were doing was equally impressive and we thought it was brilliant. The stand-out moment of our trip was meeting Marian. There is something so special about meeting the child you’ve only seen in photographs. It was a magic moment.”
