The struggle to MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY continues
EveryChild has pledged its support to YOURVOICEAGAINSTPOVERTY the reincarnation of the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY campaign.
2005 was a crucial year in the struggle against poverty and EveryChild was pleased to have been part of the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY coalition.
Poverty is a major cause of child separation and lifting a family out of poverty can make the difference between a child growing up in a loving family environment or ending up in an institution or on the streets.
The next G8 Summit
So much of the increased aid and debt cancellation promised by the G8 leaders in 2005 has yet to be delivered. So this summer, at the halfway point of the Millennium Development Goals, campaigners are uniting once again to tell world leaders that the world can't wait for action.
On the 6-8th June Germany hosts the G8 summit in the Baltic Sea resort of Heiligendamm near Rostock. We have an opportunity to hold the G8 leaders meeting there to account for the promises they made, and get them to go much further, by halving global poverty by 2015.
What can you do?

- Email the German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ask her to put poverty at the top of the political agenda. Your email will be sent to Angela Merkel and cc'd to Tony Blair.

join the rally and activities around the River Thames near Westminster.
