On Sunday 22nd April, over 36,400 people took part in the biggest (and hottest) Flora London Marathon to date. The 26.2 mile challenge began in Greenwich and ended in The Mall, passing along London's most famous roads along the way.
We were thrilled to have 16 runners taking part on behalf of EveryChild. Between them, they look set to raise £ 20,000 for the children and families in our projects.
We would like to say a massive THANK YOU to all of the runners that took part. The race is the culmination of many months hard work and dedication and we are very grateful for everything you have done. You should all be very proud of yourselves - well done!
Once again, EveryChild teams positioned themselves at points along the route and at the finish line to cheer our runners on.
Along the route we were stationed at the Caxton Pub on The Highway, at the 13 and 22 mile marks. Fun was had by all those fundraising, cheering and supporting in the sunshine, making it a great day out.
All 16 runners have spent the last several months training hard for the race. Their hard work really paid off - all but one completed the race, with the first EveryChild runner crossing the finish line in 3 hours 31 minutes and the last crossing the line in 6 hours 50 minutes. A great achievement in a difficult, hot race.
