Across the world 121 million children do not have the opportunity to go to school and 246 million have to work to survive. Children are being abused, exploited or forced to live in appalling conditions that we can barely imagine.
They are victims of poverty and exploitation, locked in a vicious cycle with little hope for the future.
But EveryChild is fighting to change this. We are committed to protecting the rights of the world's most vulnerable and marginalised children. Across 17 countries we fight to protect the most vulnerable and excluded children, giving them the chance to grow up in loving families with a safe and secure future. In all our projects we aim to innovate to bring about lasting, positive change in partnership with communities and governments.

Our work is always practical. We make sure that our projects, and the benefits they bring, can be sustained by the local community after we have left. This means that our work is not a 'quick fix' for poverty - our solutions take root, delivering lasting improvements to children, families and communities. This is the key to our success and the reason why our work is changing so many young lives for the better.
EveryChild considers child protection to be an issue of such significance that we have taken steps to mainstream it into all of our programmes. We believe in a child's right to be protected and safeguarded from exploitation and abuse, which may be physical, sexual, emotional or the result of neglect.
