Flora London Marathon 2006

The London Eye towering over the marathon runners

On Sunday 23rd April, nearly 35,000 people set off from Greenwich to run 26.2 miles across the capital to The Mall in the 2006 London Marathon.

EveryChild were thrilled to have 14 people running on our behalf; together they have raised over £ 16,000 to help vulnerable children all over the world.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our runners, for your dedication and commitment. You really have achieved something incredible. Well done and congratulations!

Cheering our runners on!

The EveryChild team cheer enthusiastically for the runners

EveryChild teams positioned themselves at points along the route and at the finish line to cheer our runners on. Along the route we were stationed at the Caxton Pub on The Highway, at the 13 and 22 mile marks. Despite it being a soggy Sunday, fun was had by all those fundraising, cheering and supporting, making it a great day out.

All 14 runners have spent the last several months training hard for the race. Their hard work really paid off - all completed the race and were ecstatic about their achievement.
