EveryChild Director speaks on inter-country adoption on BBC

EveryChild’s Global Programmes Director, Amanda Griffith, joined a live on-air debate on inter-country adoption this week on BBC Radio Five Live.

EveryChild has been outspoken in the past on the topic of inter-country adoption, advocating that the process should be a last resort and always in the best interest of the child.

In Malawi, a place familiar with inter-country adoption controversy due to Madonna’s high profile adoption there, EveryChild works to support local families caring for orphans.

EveryChild also works to influence the child care policies of governments and in many parts of the Former Soviet Union and is making real progress in pioneering family based care, such as foster care and social support mechanisms that give children more chance of staying within loving families in their country of origin.
