EveryChild’s groundbreaking work in Ukraine has been featured on Channel 5 News. The reports were broadcast on 27th and 29th February.
The first report looked at the issue of children affected by HIV/AIDS being placed in institutional care in Ukraine. The report showed footage from inside a baby home in Bila Tserkva, about two hours from the city of Kiev.
The home houses 56 babies who have been separated from their families – eight of these babies have been born to HIV positive mothers. This report also featured an interview with the director of EveryChild Ukraine, Volodymyr Kuzminskyy.
27th February.
The second report featured EveryChild’s Parent and Baby Units in Ukraine. These Units provide interim refuge for new parents who may be in danger of abandoning their children. The Units and their staff provide practical and social support for parents and babies.
