Bangalore, India’s booming IT and call centre hub, is also home to 20,000 child runaways.
Whilst thousands of hopefuls come to the city with dreams of making it big, some of them never get past the railway platform. About 90% of these children come from a family with both parents, and only 3% are orphans.
EveryChild runs a holistic project in Bangalore which aims to protect these children and reintegrate them back in to their families where possible.
Photographer Matt Writtle travelled to India with EveryChild to document these children and EveryChild’s project.
