Child Rights Centre

CRC works to protect and promote children’s rights through research, advocacy and provision of innovative projects and legal, social and psychological assistance to children, families and local state bodies.
Their aim is to ensure that state bodies respect and protect the rights of the children in their care in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan. The process started in 2004 in cooperation with UNICEF and the Commission on Child Rights under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, aimed at developing juvenile justice institutions, regulations and processes, to reflect in practice the very positive commitment that Tajikistan has made to international legal standards and children’s rights protection standards. CRC is staffed by a committed team of lawyers, social workers and psychologists.
In addition to the primary activities on providing legal, social and psychological support in closed institutions, the Centre implements the number of projects with the support of donors such as UNICEF, European Commission, UNIFEM, Children’s Legal Centre (UK), the British, US and Japanese Embassies, Swiss agency on Cooperation, and the OSI Foundation among others.
